People supported at Swanton’s Dan Y Graig service have built a model of their home and shared the things they love about it.
The project, called ‘My House’, invited everyone in Swanton services to recreate the place they live as a replica.
Team Dan Y Graig did a terrific job building the miniature version of the service but went further to give it the personal touch.
Not only did they create windows featuring each person supported at Dan Y Graig, but they also shared their favourite things about living there.
Owen said, “I love my home because all the staff help me make my life fun.”
David shared: “I love our big garden at Dan Y Graig and spend most of my time outside.
James added: “I am happy living at Dan Y Graig and have made lots of friends.
Jenny wrote: “I love spending time with my favourite staff members.”
Chrissie said: “I love spending time relaxing in my room watching sensory lights.”
Brady added: “I enjoy all of the activities that staff support me to do. I love going on holiday.
Finally, Julie shared: “Staff are really nice to me and take me to fun places. I love my princess bedroom.”
According to Team Leader Kelly Phipps, the project was a terrific way to celebrate the service, and it meant a lot to staff to hear how much the people they support love living there.
Kelly said: “It’s so heartwarming to know that the people we support enjoy happy, fulfilled lives here at Dan Y Graig.
“It was great to sit down to do something craft-based that also got us all talking and thinking.
“It makes us all very proud of the loving home we’ve created at Dan Y Graig.”
