We’re shining a spotlight on Natasha, Team Leader at Glangarnant, as she celebrates an outstanding 20 years of service!
Over the past two decades, Natasha has built her career step by step. She joined Swanton Care as a Support Worker, completed her qualifications, and progressed quickly—becoming a Senior Support Worker within just 10 months. From there, she continued to develop into her current role as Team Leader, where she now brings experience, leadership and passion to the service every day.
Reflecting on her early days, Natasha describes the start as a learning curve. “Those first few weeks felt overwhelming, but I soon found my feet and my confidence grew,” she recalls—realising she had found the right path.
During her time at Glangarnant, Natasha has seen a growing focus on person-centred care, something that continues to shape how she supports people. Her motivation has always come from the individuals she works alongside. “The people we support are just a joy,” she says. “I’ve been able to celebrate so many milestones with them. From holidays to everyday achievements, these moments have defined my journey and continue to inspire me.”
Strong relationships have been central to Natasha’s experience—not only with the people she supports, but also with their families. “We have some fantastic families, too many to mention,” she shares, highlighting the importance of trust and partnership.
She also speaks warmly about the team around her. “My team are the best—we’re truly like a family,” Natasha says. “We’re there for each other during challenges and to celebrate achievements.” Supportive leadership has played an important role too. “Managers Michelle and Lucia are so encouraging,” she explains. “The support they put in place during a recent challenging time meant I could continue working—I’ll always be grateful.”
For Natasha, seeing people achieve their goals remains the most fulfilling part of her role. “Watching them grow in confidence and reach their goals means so much,” she says.
Her advice to anyone considering a career in care is simple and encouraging. “Don’t be afraid to ask questions,” she says. “Support is always there, and you learn and grow every day.”
As she celebrates 20 years with Swanton Care, Natasha remains committed to her role as Team Leader in Wales, while also looking forward to spending more time with her grandchildren.
