A talented local artist has transformed the dining room at Pant Yr Odyn by creating fantastic wall art in the space.
The project was driven by the support staff at the service, who were determined to make the room more colourful and exciting for the people supported there.
The team commissioned Steve Jenkins to create a magnificent food-based montage that would wow everyone who walked in.
As a good friend of one of the team members, gifted Steve came highly recommended and dropped everything to prioritise the job.
By painting images of delicious burgers, hotdogs, chicken drumsticks, pizza, tacos and other favourite foods, Steve captured the perfect vibe for the room.
Regional Director Kuba Nowak said the people supported at Pant Yr Odyn couldn’t believe their eyes when they saw their dining room.
Kuba said: “Steve’s artwork is absolutely amazing, and the results wowed everyone.
“The walls had been bare because, due to safety regulations, we had to hang any photograph frames up high, so it left lots of blank spaces.
“However, Steve’s magnificent artwork has been painted onto the walls so the people we support can safely touch and interact with it.
“We’ve already started to think about transforming other areas of the home in the same fashion.”
According to Kuba, the parents of the people supported at Pant Yr Odyn have already started enquiring about wall art in their children’s bedrooms.
Kuba added: “It’s been so well-received that we’ve already got plans for Steve to do communal spaces, plus bedrooms too.
“Everyone is excited about what he’ll create – especially Jake. When he saw Steve’s handiwork, Jake was completely blown away.
“It’s so terrific that Team Pant Yr Odyn thought outside the box to bring this room to life and give the service a lovely, homely atmosphere.”
