The People We Support Forum returned for its second bi-annual gathering — and once again, it proved to be a powerful platform for connection, collaboration, and meaningful discussions.
The forum was created to give people supported by Swanton Group a space to share their ideas, ask questions, and influence the decisions that shape their services — ensuring their voices are heard at every level of the organisation.
Held at the stunning Coombe Abbey, a 12th-century historic hotel in Warwickshire, the event brought together representatives from across the UK, along with team members, members of the Senior Leadership Team, including Swanton’s Executive Team.

The overnight stay created a fun and welcoming atmosphere, giving attendees plenty of time to build relationships, reflect on progress, and share ideas in a relaxed setting.
It was fantastic to see such enthusiastic engagement from the people we support and the team members who attended. Everyone joined the conversation with passion, contributed thoughtful ideas, and encouraged each other to take part — a true reflection of how valuable this forum is for open dialogue and shared decision-making.
Throughout the day, a wide range of thought-provoking topics were discussed, including:

One of the key highlights was the Q&A session with the Executive Team, where representatives asked direct questions and shared what matters most to them.
Reflecting on the event, CEO Gary Thompson said: "It’s been brilliant to see the forum grow into such an open and inclusive space. The level of engagement and insight from the people we support continues to impress and inspire us. These conversations are vital — they help shape the way we work and ensure the voices of the people we support are firmly at the heart of everything we do."
Building on the strong foundations of the first forum held in October 2024, this second gathering showed how the forum continues to evolve into a genuine space for co-production — where people are not only heard but are helping influence real change across Swanton.
We’re already looking forward to the next People We Support Forum in December 2025 — another opportunity to celebrate the ideas, voices, and energy of our representatives as they help shape the future of the organisation.
Because at Swanton, Every Voice Matters.
