Phil Helps Prince Llewellyn Farm Recruit A New Manager

The search for a new registered manager at Prince Llewellyn Farm got a major boost when Phil joined the recruitment team.

Phil, who is supported at the service, was asked to come up with questions and take control of the section of the interview focused on the people supported.

For the past six months, Values In Care services have asked people they support to conduct a vital part of the interview process.

This time, Phil was chosen to put his questions to candidate Alfie, and he did a great job.

Vocational Service Manager Lucy Williams said: “Phil was the perfect choice to help us find a new manager for Prince Llewellyn Farm.

“He was supported to write questions based on what he thinks the people we support want and need in a new manager.

“It was a great experience for both Phil and the interviewee Alfie.”

Following Phil’s interview, Alfie went onto stage two, where Regional Director Zena Winstone and Operations Service Manager Emma Tucker interviewed him.

They later rang Phil to discuss how the interview went from his perspective and to ask him whether he thought Alfie should be offered the job.

Lucy added: “Phil was fully involved in this decision, and his input was invaluable.

“He told us that Alfie’s interview was fabulous and that we should offer him the position.

“What made the process extra special is that Phil offered Alfie the job himself.

“He got on a Teams call and said, ‘Will you be our new manager?’ which was so heartwarming.

“Alfie had been working as the Deputy Manager at Prince Llewellyn Farm, so this was a really special way for him to get this promotion.”
