Red Nose Competition Helps Swanton Fundraise For Comic Relief

This year's Comic Relief Appeal got a boost from people supported at Swanton services and their care teams as everyone made and photographed their very own 'red noses'.

A challenge was sent over across the whole organisation to get as many people as possible to don a 'red nose', take a fun photo of their efforts and send their pictures in.

For each of the nosy photos, Swanton donated £1 to the appeal, and after looking at a fantastic 136 funny photos, a round £200 was sent to the charity.

Better still, 15 intrepid walkers from Swanton Care & Community Burnley took part in a Comic Relief sponsored walk and added another £300 to the total raised.

Marketing and Communications Officer Viktoria Watts said the response was terrific and everyone should be proud to have taken part.

Viktoria said: 'We wanted to come up with a challenge that was simple, fun and drove home the message of Comic Relief.

"There were some fab 'red noses' on display, and we loved looking at the pictures sent in, which truly embodied the spirit of this amazing charity.

"Well done to our Burnley walkers, too, they did a terrific job by raising so much money with their fundraising walk."

Comic Relief raised over £34 million this year on Red Nose Day, which goes into numerous projects both in the UK and abroad.

Viktoria added: "We are proud to be amongst the fundraisers this year, and it's great to know our efforts can help others.

"The people we support and our care teams are big-hearted, kind people, and it means a lot to be part of helping Comic Relief improve people's lives."
