Team Maesteilo recently celebrated a decade of care excellence when colleague Richard Bunford collected his 10-year service award.
Ironically, Richard joined Swanton in 2014 as a career stopgap and only planned on staying for a six-month-stint.
However, after just weeks in his new job, Richard found he loved working in care and supporting people at Maesteilo.
So, six months quickly turned into years, and now he’s collecting a long service award.
Maesteilo Service Manager Nathan Greenwood said: “Richard is a credit to our service – a fantastic team player who is deeply knowledgeable.
“It didn’t take long for him to fall in love with care work, and he quickly became part of the family here, all those years ago.
“Now he’s a stalwart at the service, and the people we support love him just as he loves them.”
Alongside his enthusiasm and dedication to helping the people he supports live happy and meaningful lives, Richard is also great with his colleagues.
Nathan added: “Richard is brilliant at teaching new staff, using his wealth of knowledge to guide them.
“He finds it easy to break the ice with pretty much anyone, and he is great at showing new people the ropes.
“We’re lucky to have somebody with Richard’s patience, experience and drive as part of our team.
“Congratulations to Richard for getting his ten years of service award.”
