Robbie had the time of his life at a special party thrown by Team Bramble Cottage to celebrate his 65th birthday, and his family couldn’t have been happier.
Brother Phil wrote to Service Manager Joanne Bryant and her colleagues to thank them for going ‘over and above’ to make such a happy party possible.
People from other Values In Care services joined Bramble Cottage at a local community centre for an afternoon of music, food and presents.
The theme was ‘balloons’ as they are Robbie’s favourite thing, and according to Phil, he’s never been “so excited and happy”.
Phil wrote to Divisional Director Kate Townsley: “Dear Kate, I am writing this letter to thank you and all staff at Bramble Cottage for the wonderful 65th birthday party arranged for my brother Robbie.
“Staff at Bramble Cottage went over and above in their work duty to make such a happy party possible. I know Jo, Dawn and Darleen sacrificed their own time, and Jo can confirm that other staff members did the same. Indeed, coming into Bramble to put together a fantastic buffet, even though they were not on duty rota for the day, and even some staff joining Robbie’s Party when they were off duty as well – I could go on!
“I would also like to express my great appreciation to Dawn, who took the time to make such a wonderful birthday cake that not only looked beautiful but tasted the same as well. Once again, Kate, I cannot thank Bramble staff enough for all their efforts into making Robbie’s birthday so special. Indeed in all the years I have visited Robbie, I don’t recollect him being so excited and happy.
“Thank you, Bramble staff, once again for all the time and effort you gave to make Robbie’s party such a resounding success.”
As Robbie enjoyed being the centre of attention, his friends for other services enjoyed dancing along to music and some did a spot of karaoke.
But nobody had a better time than the birthday boy himself.
Joanne said: “When Robbie is happy, he shows it in his facial expressions and noises.
“We could see how delighted he was all afternoon, and it was lovely to hear him making his happy noise.
“We’re thrilled with Phil’s letter and kind words which mean the world to all of us.”
