Congratulations are in order for brave Simon, who is dedicated to getting back on his feet following major spinal surgery.
Simon had the operation in June and has spent the past few months recovering while using a wheelchair.
However, with the support and encouragement of his care team, Simon is making strides in regaining his movement.
So there was happiness when he took a trip to Tally Abbey past Llandeilo recently and enjoyed a bit of walking.
Service Manager Marta Nowak said: “Simon has done so well to recover from his surgery and it is wonderful to see him walking again.
“Simon enjoys walking, and we’ve got such lovely places to stroll around in our surrounding areas.
“Seeing him walking even a short distance is lovely – these are small steps towards making big strides in recovery.
“His support staff are making a big effort to help encourage him to push himself further.”
Whether he’s walking or using his wheelchair, Simon has been making the most of the past few months by taking lots of trips out.
He’s also enjoyed spending happy hours at Manor Park, a tranquil place to enjoy nature.
Marta added: “Manor Park is a great place to get some fresh air and enjoy the beauty of the outside world.
“We like to make sure Simon gets out and about as much as possible to boost his wellbeing.”
