Sink or Swim: The Legend of Jonathan the Leak Slayer

What started as a quiet Tuesday morning at Pant-Yr-Odyn quickly turned into a scene worthy of a disaster movie. The kettle was on, the team were easing into their day… and then came The Leak.

Water began pouring out from under the kitchen sink — fast enough to raise eyebrows and a few heart rates. With the mop on standby and some debating whether to grab the armbands, things were looking... well, damp.

Enter Jonathan Thomas — Team Leader and unexpected hero of the hour.

Nobody called him. Nobody needed to. Like all great legends, Jonathan simply appeared — as if summoned by the sound of a dripping pipe. Wielding a wrench (we’re still not sure where it came from), he crouched under that sink without hesitation.

“Just a bit of water,” he said with the calm assurance of someone who’s seen it all before. Spoiler: it was more than a bit! But undeterred, Jonathan got to work — tightening, twisting, and speaking fluent plumber until the leak gave up and the cupboard was dry once more. With the crisis averted and the kitchen saved, Jonathan re-emerged: soaked, smiling, and completely unfazed.

While his official job title might be Team Leader, everyone present now knows the truth: He’s Secret Plumber Jonathan Fix-It-Thomas — quick-thinking, cool-headed, and always ready to roll up his sleeves.

To recognise his swift action and hands-on heroics, Jonathan received a Swanton Above and Beyond Award — a well-earned celebration for someone who goes the extra mile, even when it’s underwater.

Thanks for saving the day, Jonathan — we’ll keep the wrench handy, just in case.
