A dream came true for Martin this December as he finally took the stage in a production of Jack And The Beanstalk after months of hard work.
Every week, Martin attends the Dream Big theatre group, and his goal for the year was to be part of their fantastic pantomime.
Although he was nervous, Martin took to the stage as part of the ensemble cast, which also included his mum Lesley.
According to Team Leader Jessica Houlton, who is part of the team who support Martin at Swanton Care & Community Barnsley, the show was a triumph.
Jessica said: “Martin has worked so hard and did brilliantly to overcome his nerves and perform on stage.
“The panto played over three nights, and I went on the opening night at The George Street Theatre in Wombwell.
“I was so proud to see Martin giving it his all and having an amazing time in the panto, and you could tell he was proud of himself too.
“It was a brilliant show, and it meant the world to see Martin fulfil his dream.”
After three nights of performance, the players had earned a party.
Martin joined his co-stars for the Christmas bash and had a wonderful time celebrating the season.
Meanwhile, Jessica and his mum Lesley made sure to keep Martin’s panto memories safe.
Jessica added: “Dream Big recorded the Friday performance of the panto so you could get a DVD copy.
“Both Martin’s mum Lesley and I picked up a copy so that we can revisit this special memory whenever he wants to.
“It was a truly magical night.”
