A joyful session of music and movement had people supported at Station House calling for a monthly encore this summer.
The fun began when April from Musical Moments arrived laden with instruments and props to lead a tuneful session.
The people supported at Station House couldn’t wait to get involved as April got them singing, dancing while playing classic hits, Disney songs and many more favourites.
Registered Manager Laura Whitely said that Musical Moments was such a hit that the people supported at Station House want April back every month.
Laura said: “The people we support absolutely love music, so we suspected this might be a very popular activity.
“April arrived with maracas, tambourines, jingling belly dancer skirts, scarves and all sorts of wonderful items for the group to use.
“She played the trumpet, and it was a truly joyful time for all concerned. The people we support are still talking about it now!”
Musical Moments sessions are designed to stimulate and engage using a range of techniques.
Much has been written about the therapeutic benefits of singing and playing music, so it was terrific to see the positive impact the activity had at Station House.
Laura added: “We had six of the people we support involved in the session, and everyone had a great time.
“Everyone was really happy and expressed how much they enjoyed it, including one of the people we support who is non-verbal. She showed her happiness by jumping around the garden afterwards.
“We’ll definitely be inviting April back very soon to do another session.”
