There are prizes galore on offer at a fantastic charity raffle arranged by Swanton’s Steph Alexander to mark World Mental Health Day.
Steph, the Deputy Manager at Swanton Supported Living North East, wants to raise money for two wellbeing initiatives very close to her heart.
All proceeds from the raffle will be split between Sunderland’s Betsy Jenny Wellbeing Café and Pets As Therapy training for puppy Tink, who is the companion of Emz.
She’s been busy drumming up support from family, friends and local businesses to gather a host of terrific prizes for the big raffle.
Steph said: “We’ve had an amazing response so far, and people have donated some fantastic prizes to our raffle.
“World Mental Health Day is a good time to raise awareness and to consider how we can do our bit to support wellbeing in our communities.
“The Betsy Jenny Wellness Café is an incredible resource in Sunderland, and so many people have benefitted from their work.
“It’ll also be amazing to raise enough to train Tink as a therapy pet as we know how much that’ll mean to Emz and many other people we support.”
Tickets for the raffle will be available from 10th October, aka World Mental Health Day, and the winners will be drawn on 29th October at Swanton SL North East’s Halloween party.
Steph said: “What better way to ramp up the tension at our spooky extravaganza than to pick our winning tickets on the night?
“Our Halloween events are always great fun, but we know the people we support will be very excited to be in with a chance of winning big.
“These are two terrific causes, and I hope people will give generously, knowing they’ve got a good chance of taking home some top prizes!”
Among the big prizes are £100 voucher from Travel With Bethany, a £100 voucher from Elite Carpet And Upholstery Cleaning and a full day tattoo voucher worth £350 from The Hideaway Tattoo Studio.
Great value vouchers have also been donated by Magic Rose Piercings, Personalised By Miley, Heather’s Flowers, Pizzalicious, Cookie Corner, Just For Babies Galleries, Pet Corner, Shadow’s Barbers, Beauty Clinique, and Evolution Beauty and Piercing.
Fabulous prizes have been donated by LS Hair, BOWver The Top, Ge-Ge Candles, MT Cakes, You Can Fly Balloon and Events, Mizz Sparkle, Angry Bird’s Crazy Golf, Clip and Climb, Shakeaholic, Hollywood Bowls, Bella Italia, Lush Locks and Floral Gems.
Kind-hearted family and friends have also donated wine, cakes and other lovely items, so the raffle is shaping up to be a giant success.
