Everyone at Swanton is determined to make Christmas as magical as possible by warming hearts daily in December via a unique advent calendar.
The ‘Swanton Christmas Advent Calendar’ is popping up across our social media channels this festive season, sharing stories designed to bring joy.
From charity fundraisers to festive adventures, every day there’s a short video from one of our fantastic services to showcase what’s happening across Swanton.
Marketing and Communications Officer Viktoria Watts said: “Christmas is a time for celebration and making wonderful memories, so we want to show the world all the lovely things going on at Swanton.
“The people we support are doing so many fun, festive things, and the reaction to their adventures is just lovely.
“We hope our little videos are getting followers in the Christmas spirit, too.”
Better yet, a second online initiative is running alongside the Christmas celebration as Team Leader Ceri from Maes Y Rhyddid has created a British Sign Language Advent Calendar.
Every day, she shares a super helpful guide for how to sign a word or phrase synonymous with this time of year.
So our followers are able to learn the signing for everything from ‘Christmas Tree’ to ‘mittens’, ‘snowball’ to ‘Baby Jesus’.
By the end of the month, people could have a wealth of terrific BSL knowledge to take forward into 2025.
Viktoria added: “We’re thrilled that Ceri has designed this amazing BSL advent calendar, it’s absolutely brilliant.
“During the season of giving, it’s wonderful that she’s chosen to empower more people to learn BSL and make Christmas inclusive.
“Having a couple of words taught every day makes it very simple to master some useful phrases.
“We hope it might inspire people to learn even more BSL in the New Year.”
