Swanton Pancake Drop Is Flipping Fantastic

There were plenty of Pancake Day fun and games for people supported at Swanton’s services in South Wales this year as the Hub hosted celebrations.

Maesteilo Activity Hub Manager Karen Jeffreys and her team supported people from services in the region at a special pancake drop.

They guided the group in making their own pancake batter from milk, flour, and eggs before topping them with different flavour combinations.

Plus, some of the fancy flippers made lace design creations – including animal shapes - that tasted as good as they looked.

Karen said: “Who doesn’t love Pancake Day? It’s one of the most delicious days of the year!

“Pancakes are so easy to make, and the possibilities for toppings are endless.

“The people we support really enjoyed getting to make their pancakes from scratch.”

A crepe stove was set up in the Hub, and the people supported at the services took turns to cook and flip their creations.

There were plenty of choices of toppings including chocolate, berries, lemon and more.

Karen added: “We even had some of the people we support packing extra pancakes in lunchboxes to take home.

“It was lovely to see how much fun people had and the satisfaction they felt having made such tasty treats themselves.

“The Hub was buzzing with happiness after such a fantastic activity, and we’re delighted everyone had such a good time.”
