Swanton Teams Go Tash-tastic For Movember!

This year’s Movember challenge has inspired two Swanton teams to raise big money for men’s health charities.

At Pant Yr Odyn in Wales, a team of people supported at the service and colleagues have been growing moustaches throughout the month.

In Norfolk, Swanton House colleagues have been competing to grow the most resplendent upper lip warmer.

Although there has been plenty of banter and competitiveness, the big news is the tremendous amount of money the teams have raised for charity.

Pant Yr Odyn Service Manager Marta Nowak said: “We’re so proud of our boys – they’ve raised over £500 for Movember!

“It’s been a real group effort as our colleagues Trevor, Dan, Gavin, and James have encouraged the people we support to join them.

“Simon, Jake, Keir, Taran, Nathan, and Andrew have all got involved, and it’s been a lot of fun.

“It feels good to have raised money for such a worthy cause.”

Movember is a charity committed to ‘changing the face of men’s health.

The movement wants to get men talking about mental health and suicide prevention, as well as prostate and testicular cancer.

At Swanton House, colleagues Owen, Nigel, Scott, Mark, Duncan, Marcus and Jonathan have joined the cause.

Owen said: “It’s been a great challenge – even though some mos look better than others!

“We’ve had a good laugh, and are proud to have raised over £350 for Movember.

“Hopefully, it’ll get men talking more about their mental health and raise awareness for men’s cancer.”
