Team All Saints Answer The King’s Call To Help Out!

People supported at All Saints Vicarage have joined a new royal initiative designed to encourage more people to volunteer in their communities.

Following the coronation of King Charles III, The Big Help Out was launched on Monday 8th May, to galvanise the UK people into becoming volunteers.

Guy, Dan, Mark, and Josh from All Saints Vicarage answered the call and used their bank holiday to do a litter pick at the King George V playing field.

Not only did the lads leave their familiar routes to participate in the clean-up operation, but they also braved a downpour to complete their volunteering.

Service Manager Matthew Bell said both King and country should be very proud.

Matthew said: “Well done to Guy, Dan, Mark and Josh – they did a fantastic job collecting all that litter.

“We think The Big Help Out is a terrific idea, and it was lovely for the boys to do their bit to volunteer in the local community.

“These activities were far away from their preferred routines, so they did so well to be a part of it.”

The King wanted to create a lasting legacy of volunteering from his Coronation weekend.

Interestingly, the area where the boys did their litter picking has a royal connection too.

Matthew explained: “The King George V playing fields are a network of 506 green spaces across the UK.

“They include parks, playing fields and recreational grounds and are forever protected by Fields In Trust, so they’ll always be used for sport, nature and play.

“That’s why keeping those spaces clean and tidy is important for the community.

“We feel so lucky to have the King George’s Field right next door to us and to play a part in looking after it.”
