People supported at Swanton’s North East services got together at The Alexander pub, for their first post-pandemic party this spring and had a brilliant time.

The Easter disco at The Alexander pub in Grangetown was organised by The Cedars, who did a sterling job. Support worker, Lee Anderson, took charge of the organising and got the venue, food and invites sorted for the eagerly anticipated event. As the celebrations got underway, party-goers were quick to get on the dancefloor to groove to their favourite tunes. Lee said:

“It was fantastic to see how much fun the people we support in the North East had together. It’s been such a long time since we’ve been able to host an event this big, and it was worth the wait. The Alexander pub in Grangetown looked after us brilliantly, and the food went down a treat. There was plenty of dancing, chatting and laughing – everything you want from a good party!”

Lee collaborated with The Cedars Service Manager, Jan Collins, to organise the party. They worked tirelessly to ensure the Easter fun included everything the people they supported could want. Jan said:

“Lee went out of his way to make this special party a great success. He did a lot of the organising in his own time and made sure everything went well. Some of the services in the North East couldn’t make it because of COVID outbreaks, so we did doorstep deliveries of their Easter eggs and some buffet bits. It’s great to have been able to get together with so many other services and to have such a lovely time.”
