Three daredevil colleagues from Values In Care’s Glangarnant service will jump out of a plane at 10,000ft to raise money for charity this autumn.
Dan Mainwaring, Michelle Williams and Zenia Jenkins are doing a skydive at Swansea Airfield in October.
The brave trio want to raise money for Swanton’s chosen charity, Happy Days, so will be fundraising in earnest over the next few months.
Dan said: “We’re all nervous but determined to conquer our skydiving challenge.
“Zenia is a bit of a daredevil and Michelle’s not fussed about heights, but I’m quite scared myself.
“But we want to push ourselves to do something out of the ordinary and raise money to contribute towards the fantastic work done by Happy Days.
“The people we support are right behind us, and some of them will be coming to cheer us on at the airfield.”
Dan says he’s already begun training for the scary challenge but is getting used to heart-stopping heights at theme parks.
He reckons rollercoasters are the key to building up his tolerance for the upcoming skydive.
Dan said: “Luckily, my son and the people I support are keen on theme park rides.
“So when we go to places like Thorpe Park, I push myself to go on the big rollercoasters.
“I believe that Hyperia is the tallest rollercoaster in the country, so that’ll help me acclimatise.
“Although I’ll be putting myself to the ultimate test in October by jumping out at 10,000ft!
“It’ll be a cracking day, I’m sure.”
