Team Millie’s Go the Distance at Park Run 5K!

There was excitement in the air last month as Team Millie’s laced up their trainers and joined the local Park Run 5K. Staff and children from Millie’s House took part in the event, enjoying the chance to connect with the wider community and share in the joy of being part of something special.

The children loved the experience – the fresh air, the excitement, and the simple joy of being out together in such a lively and welcoming atmosphere. Alongside them, staff ran with energy and determination, cheered on by their colleagues waiting at the finish line. There was plenty of laughter, encouragement, and lots of high-fives as participants crossed the line.

For everyone at Millie’s House, the day reflected what they do best – teamwork, community spirit, and creating memorable experiences for the children they support.

Registered Manager Sarah summed it up perfectly: “It was such a great day! The children gained so many special memories, and that’s what makes it so worthwhile. I am also very proud of the staff for running while supporting the wheelchairs — they showed such energy and commitment throughout.”

She added: “The smiles on the children’s faces said it all — it was an incredible experience, and I couldn’t be prouder of how our team pulled together to make it happen.”

Interim Managing Director Pete shared his praise too: “This was a fantastic example of the dedication and passion our teams show every day. Seeing colleagues and children take part in the Park Run side by side was truly inspiring, and it reflects the very best of what Courtyard Care is all about.”

The celebrations don’t end there. Teams from both Emily’s House and Millie’s House, alongside the children and young people we support, are now getting ready to take on the Santa Dash this December — a heartwarming festive event raising vital funds for Alder Hey Children’s Charity. It’s another chance to come together, spread joy, and create lifelong memories.

A huge well done and thank you to everyone involved!
