Swanton services across the UK are gearing up for their Fit Blitz Fundraiser as they join in to complete 12 solid hours of active activities.
A clarion call went out from the Events Team to galvanise people supported at the services and their Support Staff to get involved by getting moving.
At 8am on Friday, 24th May, it’ll be get set and go as services from every region Swanton operates in complete 30-minute slots until the 8pm finish.
All money raised will go towards Happy Days Children’s Charity, which provides incredible experiences for children with mental, physical or emotional difficulties.
One of the event organisers, Joanne Middleton, predicts it’ll be a fantastic effort from the competitive teams.
Joanne said: “We’re ready to raise the roof for our Fit Blitz Fundraiser!
“We have got services across the country lining up all sorts of different sports and activities to help Happy Days.
“From trampolining to cycling, horse-riding to running, and lots of walking, there’ll be something for everyone to enjoy.”
What’s fantastic is how inclusive this big-hearted fundraising effort is designed to be.
Although the focus is on fitness, any activity that encourages movement is welcomed.
For example, some services will back because the making and whisking of cake batter is the movement manageable for the people supported there.
With everybody doing their bit, the Fit Blitz Fundraisers hope to present a nice big cheque to Happy Days.
Joanne added: “The work that Happy Days does is exceptional, and we want to help them to continue giving children these incredible days to remember.
“We strive to create moments that matter in our services every day, and this is another way we can do something amazing with the people we support for the good of others.”
