Colleagues at Swanton’s Supported Living North East service have been praised after each member of the team received special recognition in recent months.
Registered Manager Faye Hunter said she was incredibly proud of each and every one of her team members for shining so brightly.
Swanton’s Above and Beyond Awards are handed out in recognition of those who’ve gone the extra mile in their work.
This dedication is having a profoundly positive impact on the lives of the people supported by the service.
Faye said: “I am so proud of everyone for their hard work – this is an amazing achievement.
“To get an Above and Beyond Award means a lot, but for each member of the team to get one means everyone at Swanton Supported Living North East is doing their bit to provide exceptional care.”
For Ellen Gray, the recognition was for the support and guidance she provided to a colleague during a difficult time in their personal life.
Tracy Pochec earned her award for helping the father of the person she supports when he was taken seriously ill and rushed into the hospital and needed clothes, a shave and food.
It was his handling of an incident in the community and his special bond with the person he supports that saw Olayemi Adeyemi receive his nomination.
Aaron Risker, Adam Rudd, and Anthony Risker were all lauded for their support and advocacy for a person they support who went into A&E. A difficult situation unfolded, but these colleagues managed to ensure that the additional needs of the person they supported were met.
Faye added: “These are all examples of how my colleagues regularly go out of their way to support and protect others.
“Their strong sense of responsibility and determination to create safe, supportive spaces for the people they support guides them.
“I couldn’t be more proud of the way they show care and compassion every day. It’s a great feeling to know every one of them is being recognised for their invaluable contribution to Swanton.”
