The sun shone for birthday boy Tom at Tyn Y Wern this spring when he marked turning 30 with a special party in the garden.
Tom’s support team was determined to give him a celebration to remember, so he spent the days before the party decorating the garden with lights, wind chimes, bunting and balloons.
Meanwhile, Service Manager Rebecca Taylor organised for a Winne The Pooh birthday cake to be made for Tom, who loves A.A. Milne’s adorable character.
On the day itself, Tom was bursting with happiness as everyone gathered to mark his big birthday.
Rebecca said: “I was crossing my fingers for good weather and we were so lucky that we had a lovely sunny day for the party.
“I can’t thank Team Tyn Y Wern enough for everything they did to make Tom’s 30th such a magical occasion.
“They worked so hard to decorate, organise and then host the garden party.
“The other people supported here absolutely loved attending the party, and we were so touched that people from Swn Y Nant and Pen Y Coed were supported to attend too.
“There was a buffet, dancing and trampolining to enjoy – and everyone got involved!”
All day long, Tom worse his 30th badge and was buzzing about making his happy noises.
Of course, one of the highlights involved the sweet treats that Tom was given.
Rebecca added: “Tom absolutely loves chocolate and cake, and he had plenty of both!
“Not only was there birthday cake and sweet treats in the buffet, but he received a few boxes of chocolates as gifts from the people supported at the other services.
“It was absolutely fantastic to see Tom have such a good time and to mark this milestone birthday in style.
“Thanks to everyone who came along and made Tom’s garden birthday party so special!”
