Tyrone Conquers Wonderland During Escape Room Challenge

Move over Queen of Hearts because Tyrone is the new ruler of Wonderland after ace-ing his escape room challenge.

Tyrone and Support Worker Megan headed to Telford’s XscapeNow! to play their Alice In Wonderland game and did brilliantly.

The Lewis Carrol-themed experience provided a series of head-scratcher clues for Tyrone, who is supported at Swanton’s Darwin Place, to solve to win his escape.

Not only did Tyrone and Megan work as a crack team to solve puzzles together, but they escaped room one in just under an hour – a feat that many six-person teams can’t manage.

Megan said: “We had a fantastic afternoon at the Alice In Wonderland escape room – Tyrone was amazing.

“He tried an escape room a few years ago and enjoyed it but didn’t choose to go back until I suggested it this time.

“I was so impressed that Tyrone was willing to work with me as a team so we could solve the questions and puzzles together.

“We were desperately trying to get out in time to win a certificate but only just missed out.

“That’s why Tyrone is keen to return and do it again soon so we can get the certificate.”

The fun didn’t stop in Wonderland as Tyrone and Megan called into Papa John’s on the way home to get a pizza.

Megan added: “It was lovely to get Tyrone a treat pizza, and we were in great spirits as we headed home.

“Tyrone was telling jokes and pretending to drop his pizza, which made us laugh so much.

“It was such a fun-packed day full of games and giggles. I was so proud of Tyrone for doing so well and have no doubt he’ll be taking home the winner’s certificate next time.”

Scheme Manager Steph East said she was thrilled to see Tyrone making great strides with the support of his team.

Steph said: “I am extremely proud of the progress Tyrone is making in finding and exploring new and meaningful activities for himself, with Megan’s support.

“It’s wonderful to witness the right support provided and delivered in a person-centred way. This approach can achieve endless possibilities with really positive outcomes.”
