Fundraiser Tyrone showed courage and determination by pushing himself out of his comfort zone to complete this year’s Race For Life.
Tyrone, who is supported at Swanton’s Furnace Lane service, joined thousands of others for the sporty charity event at Telford Town Park.
Better yet, he was able to raise an incredible £440 for Cancer Research UK, smashing his £75 target.
Team Leader Natalie Taylor said that when Tyrone crossed the finish line, he was bursting with pride.
Natalie said: “We are so proud of Tyrone – he did amazingly well.
“When I first suggested doing the Race For Life, I wasn’t sure if he’d be keen, but he was immediately excited about it.
“The Telford event always attracts a big crowd, and the atmosphere on the day was amazing.
“It was fantastic to see Tyrone enjoying such a proud moment when he finished the race.”
After completing the race, Tyrone was nominated by Team Furnace Lane to receive Swanton’s ‘Leaps and Bounds’ Award.
These accolades are given to those who achieve great things, working through challenges to grab opportunities.
Natalie added: “Tyrone was delighted to get a ‘Leaps and Bounds’ Award.
“It was so well deserved because participating in a big event like the Race For Life is definitely out of his comfort zone.
“It was terrific that he achieved this personal goal and raised such a lot of money for charity.
“Well done, Tyrone – we’re all so proud of you.”
