Values in Care Summer BBQ hits all The Right 80’s Notes!

Revellers at Values In Care’s summer BBQ took a trip back to the 80s for a sun-soaked afternoon of fun.

People supported at Values in Care services across Wales made the trip to Treeharris Phoenix Rugby Football Club to join the party. Many guests got all dressed up in their 80s finery with neon colours, shell suits, tutus and slogan t-shirts on parade. The joyful celebrations also involved delicious food, games, stalls and face-painting as everyone had fun in the sun.

Vocational Service Manager Lucy Williams said it was a great way to start the summer. Lucy said:

“What a fantastic day of sun, fun and festivities!  The people we support at Values in Care, had the best day looking around the stalls, playing games and enjoying the lovely refreshments. It meant the world to us that so many people were able to come from services across Wales. I think the 80s theme was a perfect inspiration, and the fancy dress looks were awesome.”

The rugby club provided the perfect outdoor venue for the festivities. Grilling was done on the huge BBQ, where sausages and burgers were cooked to perfection. Sweet treats, including cakes and ice cream, were also on the menu, with a local ice cream van serving up whipped wonders.

But the best thing was the opportunity to socialise with old and new friends!

“We will never take the chance to meet up in person for granted. Being together to make fantastic memories in the sunshine felt better than ever. Thanks to everyone who worked so hard to put this event on and to the people we support at Values in Care for making a sunny afternoon in Treeharris so special.”
