A mood-boosting stroll in the seaside sunshine was the perfect way for Team Swanton in Wales to observe Mental Health Week.
The coastal walk was arranged by Recruiter Leanne Burder, who issued an invite to services across the region.
Over 30 people supported by Swanton and care colleagues met Leanne to walk the Millennium Coastal Path Burry Port towards the harbour.
The wellbeing walk went down a storm, as did the pitstop pancakes that punctuated the journey.
Leanne said: “It was great to get some good weather in Wales on the day we headed out on our wellbeing walk.
“I wanted to bring people together to do something good for their bodies and minds, and the feedback was that everyone had a great time.
“We walked along the beautiful beachfront towards Burry Port Harbour and stopped to enjoy a treat at a local café.
“Let’s just say the sale of their delicious crepes skyrocketed during our visit, and everybody was well-fed.”
After the success of the walk, Leanne is looking forward to getting another one in the diary.
She added: “This beautiful beach is right on our doorstep, so it’s great to make the most of living in a stunning part of the world.
“We often forget to take the time to walk in nature, but it is so good for our mental health.
“This walk was inspired by Mental Health Week and it’s given me the appetite to organise more as it was so lovely to do this as a group.”
